I had a fantastic time at Kasthamandap Boutique, where Prabin arranged a trek and the rooftop view was spectacular. The beef dishes for breakfast were a standout, with a delicious offer of local spices. Plus, the clean and comfortable rooms made it a cozy retreat.
However, my room wasn’t ideal with one window facing a wall and another an ugly building. I struggled with inconsistent shower temperatures, and at 4500 rupees, it felt steep. The lobby was small and not inviting, which was a bit of a letdown.

What you’ll love and what you won’t
The atmosphere is relaxed with attentive staff eager to assist. Breakfast offers a delightful mix of local and international dishes, ensuring a fabulous start to the day.
Getting to the hotel can be a challenge due to the narrow streets of Thamel, making initial access a bit frustrating.

The hotel offers a fantastic breakfast with local and international options, but the room next to the street was noisy.

missingWrote a review on 01 Novnoisy room
The street-facing room wasn’t soundproof, making it noisy from the open-air restaurant across the street. The elevator is necessary due to low water pressure on higher floors, and airport transfer costs are excessive compared to local options.

The hotel is located in a quiet section of Thamel, making it a peaceful retreat amidst the bustling city.
Unfortunately, my overall experience was marred by some disappointing issues. I was frustrated by the loud noise from the street-facing room, which was far from soundproof. The inconsistent shower temperatures were also aggravating, making it impossible to enjoy a relaxing wash after a long day of exploring. Lastly, I expected better service regarding transportation arrangements, especially considering the high costs compared to local options.

for a boutique hotel, I was shocked at the dirty fridge and the shower curtain, which looked like it belonged in a horror movie! I expected a room upgrade for all this inconvenience but I guess that's too much to ask. I almost gave them a good review, but I just couldn’t.
